Merritt Borders

Family Nurse Practitioner

Merritt Borders began his career in health care over a decade ago as a fitness trainer and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance at the University of Louisville before going back for a second Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Spalding University. He went on to gain experience in both critical care and the emergency department as a registered nurse for over 3 years before graduating from Bellarmine University with a Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner and becoming board-certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

He now specializes in primary care and medication-assisted treatment and has a passion for working with people from all backgrounds, empowering them through close communication and shared decision-making to achieve their best level of health and wellness.

He has been thrilled to be a part of the team at High Country Community Health because he passionately shares the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate care to everyone, focusing on each individual as a whole person with individualized health needs. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids hiking, camping, and exploring the great outdoors.
