Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist/LPA or Clinical Mental Health Counselor

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and collaborative Pediatric Integrated Behavioral Health Provider to join our interdisciplinary team. This role involves providing behavioral health services within a pediatric primary care setting, utilizing an integrated care model to support children, adolescents, and their families. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative skills, and be passionate about improving mental health access through a whole-person, team-based approach.



Supervisory Relationships

Reports to the Chief of Behavioral Health


Travel Requirements: Occasional travel for meetings/training Work Hours

Full-time: Monday-Friday, 40 hours with no on call duties

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct brief, evidence-based behavioral health assessments and interventions for pediatric patients within the primary care setting.

• Collaborate closely with pediatricians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement coordinated care plans.

• Provide consultation to primary care providers regarding behavioral health concerns, treatment recommendations, and mental health screenings.

• Support behavioral health integration efforts including care coordination, warm handoffs, and team huddles.

• Educate families about behavioral health conditions, treatments, and available resources.

• Utilize measurement-based care tools to track progress and adjust interventions accordingly.

• Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives related to integrated behavioral health.

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed to practice independently in the state or associate level license

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing behavioral health services to children and families.

• Experience in an integrated care or collaborative care setting preferred.

• Strong understanding of childhood development, trauma-informed care, and common pediatric mental health concerns (e.g., ADHD, anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders).

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (Spanish/English).

• Experience with evidence-based interventions such as SFBT, CBT, PCIT, motivational interviewing, and behavioral activation.

• Familiarity with screening tools (PHQ-9, GAD-7, PSC-17, etc.) and integrated care workflows.

• Training in integrated care models (PCBH model) is a plus.


Work Environment:

• Fast-paced pediatric clinic with strong support for interdisciplinary teamwork.

• Position may include both in-person and telehealth service delivery.

• Job Location: Watauga Medical 

• HCCH clinics participate in the National Health Service Corps loan repayment program

• Our clinics are located in the mountains of western North Carolina.  All of our clinics are within two hours of Charlotte and minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway.  This area offers ample opportunities for snow skiing and snowboarding, hiking, biking, fishing and kayaking.  

Salary Description

50,000-65,000 depending on licensure
