Dr. Wanda Godfrey

Primary Care Physician

Dr. Godfrey grew up in Massachusetts and graduated with honors from Boston University. She then joined the Peace Corps and lived in a small village in Sierra Leone, West Africa, for two years. It was during her time there, surrounded by so much suffering, that she decided to become a doctor to help improve the lives of disadvantaged people.

She received her MD from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed a Family Practice Residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Godfrey has been practicing in North Carolina for over 30 years and loves the variety that Family Practice offers. She especially enjoys working with the elderly and in women’s reproductive health, and she performs pain-managed IUD placements. Dr. Godfrey is also an ally and medical supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized populations.

She loves to travel with her three grown children, has visited several countries, and finds learning about different cultures fascinating.
