Dr. Melissa Collier

Director of Pediatrics

Dr. Collier is the Director of Pediatrics at High Country Community Health, where she provides patient care at Boone Pediatrics and supports additional clinics serving children. She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees from the University of Minnesota in 2006, then completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria in 2010. She is board certified in Pediatrics.



Before joining HCCH, Dr. Collier spent eight years with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), serving as a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service and investigating infectious disease outbreaks. In 2019, she returned to full-time patient care and most recently relocated to Boone from Indianapolis, Indiana.



Outside of work, Dr. Collier enjoys hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, and spending time outdoors with her husband and children. Her family is excited to call the mountains home and is grateful for the warm welcome they’ve received from the Boone community.
