Dr. Cheryl Abersold

Doctor of Nursing Practitioner

Dr. Cheryl Abersold is a Doctor of Nursing Practice at High Country Community Health, where she provides pediatric care at HCCH Pediatrics-Elkin. She joined HCCH in June 2026.

Originally from Ohio, Dr. Abersold earned her nursing degree from Washington State Community College, her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Phoenix, her post-master's certification in family care from Maryville University of St. Louis, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from The Ohio State University.


Dr. Abersold began practicing in pediatric primary care in Florida in 2019. After relocating to the Elkin area in 2024, she practiced family medicine, caring for both adults and children. While she enjoyed serving patients of all ages, pediatrics has always been her true passion.

Outside of work, Dr. Abersold enjoys spending time with her family. She is the proud wife of a retired U.S. Marine and the mother of five children. In her free time, she enjoys reading, visiting theme parks, relaxing at the beach, traveling to new places, cooking, and trying new recipes.
