About the Role


High Country Community Health (HCCH) is located in the mountains of North Carolina’s beautiful “High Country” and provides quality, patient-centered, culturally appropriate, affordable and compassionate care that serves the whole person. HCCH is headquartered in Boone North Carolina, and operates ten medical, dental, and behavioral health clinics all about an hour away or less from Boone. Currently our electronic health records (EHR) software system is eClinicalWorks. It is remoted hosted, and is utilized by 200 end users.

This full-time position reports to the Software Manager, and is responsible for implementing, operating, supporting, monitoring, and updating the EHR system to maximize efficiency, productivity, appropriate use, and patient care. This position will work with our EHR project team, and will also train employees at all levels of the organization including care providers. This position also troubleshoots and resolves software issues and helps identify and provide enhancements to the EHR system. The position will work with medical and behavioral health providers, support staff, and administration to maximize the use of the EHR system. This position will also work with the EHR vendor to ensure the organization and staff needs are sufficiently met.



Specific responsibilities include:

Design and maintenance of templates
Input of data to ensure proper functioning of EHR
Provide training to employees that use the system
Provide technical support for software use
Develop, analyze, and provide EHR system recommendations to the Software Manager
Provide productivity, security, and system metrics reports to the Software Manager
Protect the privacy and security of all protected health information residing on the EHR system, and follow best practice guidelines and compliance regulations for information security
Work with the other members of the Electronic Health Records Team to provide enhancements and support for the HER system.
Provide backup system administrator duties when the Software Manager is not available
Develop custom reports and other requirements as needed
Ensure any software system updates are implemented and supported
Ensuring all required structured data fields are captured
Ensure EHR system is working properly to include electronic prescriptions, uploading of 340B data, data interfaces are operating correctly, etc.

Requirements

At least 2 years’ experience working with an electronic medical record system and a Bachelor’s degree or higher in information technology preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required. The ideal candidate will have

3 or more years of healthcare IT and EHR system experience. Other desired experience includes EHR system administration, software/clinical analysis, software training and support, customer service, applications development, change management, project

management, and information systems security management.
