Medicaid Ambassador
Reports To: Medicaid Expansion Supervisor
The Medicaid Ambassador position is temporary, full-time, with the potential of turning into a permanent position after 1 year.
Position Summary:
This position will provide help and instruction on access to Medicaid coverage or the possibility of getting affordable insurance coverage through the Health Exchange. This individual will serve in office and virtually in assisting patients as needed. Medicaid Ambassadors may also provide assistance filling out HCCH registration paperwork and navigation of the Kiosk or patient portal. They will also work closely with the front desk, the Patient Resource Specialist and the employees that are certified to enroll patients with the Health Insurance Marketplace.
Essential Functions:
Identify those eligible for Medicaid.
Become proficient in ePass, the digital application for Medicaid.
Work one-on-one with patients to fill out Medicaid applications.
Obtain certification for Certified Application Counselor Training for Marketplace, if possible.
Help patients with the Kiosk and HCCH paperwork.
Other duties as requested.
Requirements
Education and Training:
Education and training for tasks as mentioned above.
High School Diploma or GED
Experience working with technology and the healthcare field preferred.
