Housekeeper/Cleaning Specialist - Boone NC



Position Summary:

A full time position responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of offices, patient rooms, clinical areas and common spaces in all three of our Watauga County Sites, (two medical and one dental). Use supplies to clean, disinfect and sterilize frequently touched surfaces. Remove trash and dispose of medical waste properly. Some cleaning can be done within office hours, other cleaning (mopping, vacuuming, etc., to be done after working hours. Some weekends may be required).

Essential Functions:

Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
Clean outdoor windows, pick up trash around entrances and sweep doorways.
Remove debris sidewalks
Empty trash
Stock and maintain cleaning supplies
Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
Clean and maintain restrooms (to include supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels and soap).
Wash and clean windows and mirrors
Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
Dust furniture and fixtures


Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

Requirements

Education and Training:

A basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and supplies.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good communication skills.

  • Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them

  • Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces

  • Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds

  • Good organizational skills

  • Ability to follow directions

  • Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners.

Typical Physical Demands:

The job duties require an employee to bend, reach, stoop, stand and/or walk for extended periods. The job also requires comfortability using a ladder. Must be able to lift and move at least 50 pounds.

Travel Requirements:

Must be able to use your own vehicle and travel between Boone sites.

Salary Description

$18 - $20
