About the Role
This position will serve as the clinical support person for an outpatient psychiatrist who will provide both in clinic and virtual psychiatry appointments to patients of HCCH.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Contacting patients to verify psychiatry appointments and determine transportation needs.
Obtain patient history including chief complaint, social history, history of present illness,
AUDIT, DAST, PHQ 9 and other pertinent information
Take vital signs and other measurements as requested by the psychiatrist
Perform procedures ordered by the physician including but not limited to tympanometry,
pulse oximetry, nebulizer treatments, EKG’s spirometry
Send any prescription via E-Rx as directed by physician
Administer appropriate telephone triage for patients
Introduce patients to the process of virtual psychiatry appointments
Coordinate clinic schedules to ensure patients are roomed, triaged, and ready for psychiatry appointment at their scheduled time
Triage patients, based on need, if there is an active waitlist
Train staff across sites on psychiatry procedures and documentation
Complete prior authorizations, as needed
Assist with scheduling patients for psychiatry intakes and follow up appointments
Attend team huddles
Reports to: Director of Behavioral Health Integration
Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population including patients, coworkers, and community stakeholders
Experience, education, or training in psychology, social work, counseling, or a similar discipline
Ability to interview patients with tact and cultural sensitivity in order to obtain necessary information to make appropriate referrals and follow-up
Ability to learn and utilize all relevant features of the Electronic Health Record in documentation of clinical work
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Excellent listening skills
Self-motivated and self-guided
LPN with a minimum of two years’ experience, preferably in a behavioral health setting. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

This position will primarily be located at the East Burke medical office, with travel to other clinic locations as needed.
Final candidates will be asked to complete skills, reasoning, and personality assessments specific to the position to which they applied.
